In her most recent Huffington Post column, State Policy Director Kate Casas introduces Jay, a 21-year old single mother whose story begins in a dropout factory in St. Louis County. After dropping out of high school and spending a short time in the Job Corps, Jay realized that she was running out of time to fulfill her dream of becoming a registered nurse.
