Reimagining Education

Legislator Tour Teleios Academics: A Vision for the Future of Education in Missouri

On December 18th, Teleios Academics, a small Christian hybrid micro-school in Belton, Missouri, opened its doors to three legislators, Senator Rick Brattin, Representative Sherri Gallick, and Representative Bill Irwin. The visit offered a unique opportunity to showcase how innovative education models are meeting the needs of Missouri families.

The day began with a guided tour of the school. Legislators were able to observe classrooms in action, meet dedicated teachers, and witness firsthand the personalized approach that Teleios Academics offers. One of the highlights was seeing the legislators sit down with students, assisting them with their work and engaging in conversations about their studies.

Following the tour, attendees gathered for a lunch where parents shared their stories about the transformative impact Teleios Academics has had on their children’s education. From small class sizes to the flexible hybrid model, parents emphasized how the school’s approach allows students to thrive academically, emotionally, and spiritually. Teleios Academics’ commitment to affordability—including their goal to accept MOScholars scholarships by next fall—was also a significant point of discussion.

The event concluded with remarks from Senator Brattin, Representative Gallick, and Representative Irwin, who spoke about their bills and the upcoming 2025 legislative session.

For the legislators, this visit was more than just a tour—it was an opportunity to see innovative education in action. As Missouri grapples with the challenges of modernizing its education system, experiences like this are invaluable. They provide a clear vision of what’s possible when schools prioritize flexibility, affordability, and tailored learning experiences.

Reinventing education in Missouri requires bold ideas and collaborative efforts between lawmakers, educators, and families. Teleios Academics serves as a shining example of what can be achieved when communities work together to create educational opportunities that empower every student to reach their full potential. Visits like this one remind us that the future of education lies in embracing innovation and championing models that meet the needs of all learners.
